Harringay Online, a pioneering neighbourhood social network luaunched in July 2007 received a speical commendation from the awards sponsored by Gordon Brown's office at Number 10 Downing Street.
The site was one of three presented to Gordon Brown at the Awards ceremony in London recently.
Public sector online commentator Dominic Campbell writing on his site Futuregov after Harringay Online's success at July's Catalyst Awards picked out the website as a very effective concept. "This is a spuerb concept", commented Campbell. "It truly deserves to be replictaed elsewhere".
